~A Magical Adventure of animals traveling worldwide to Noah's Ark.~
Max, a Scottish terrier, takes his usual morning trot down to the loch where he hears a mysterious Voice humming in the reeds saying, "Come to Me...follow the fire cloud." He embarks on an unknown journey from Scotland, meeting other animals along the way including Liz, a brilliant, petite black cat from France. Max and Liz become the brave leaders for their group, and eventually for the entire ark. The mysterious journey, filled with danger, humor, trials, and triumphs, leads them across Europe to the Middle East. The moment of arrival for these animals is spectacular as the ark is miraculously transformed into the animals' natural habitats.
Throughout the previous one hundred years, Noah and family have endured ridicule from villagers while building the ark. Now this family must painfully witness the loss of lives and total destruction of the earth through the mighty flood.
After the journey to the ark, the voyage in the ark begins. Liz finds ways to keep the animals occupied, including daily exercise led by the flamingos and a talent night where the animals entertain each other with their natural abilities. But a sinister plot develops. Someone is out to kill Noah and his family. Liz follows clues that lead her to discover a stowaway who has deceived them all. Max and Liz foil the plot, but at a high price. The end climaxes with unexpected twists and turns, taking the reader from despair to hope.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS?
An Amazing re-telling of Noah's Ark! Jenny has done a wonderful job of telling the story from the animal's point of view. Ever wonder How they got there? What they thought? Well, Jenny did, and she decided to write about it, with the help of her dog and cat, (Max & Liz). This Book is great for Jr. High age kids, and adults alike. Follow Max, and his friends from Scotland as they learn how to get along, and how to follow the fire cloud.
Not only does she tell you about how the animals felt while being called by God, but also how Noah would have been prepared for his assignment early in life. She shows how Noah's Father, had learned about all the different animals from Adam, and how he later passed on the knowledge to Noah, and Noah's sons.
Once Max and Liz get their party of animals to the ark, they are overwhelmed, with how many animals are there...Could you imagine being with every land creature on Earth at one time? Other Than being a tad long, I enjoyed the story! And recommend it to anyone with some time and imagination!
Next book in the series of, The Amazing tales of Max and Liz, is The Dreamer, The Schemer, And The Robe when Max and Liz help Joseph!
And It is also being made into a 3D animated movie! So be sure and catch that!

  1. Great review! I did find it long, but it was so interesting I didn't get bored. I think kids will really enjoy this one.

  2. David Says:

Personally I didn't find the book long, if written for adults. However it was hard to tell if it was written for adults or children. I suppose the best answer to that is it was written for the child in each on of us.
