In Too Deep by Mary Connealy
The Kincaid Brides Book 2 (click to read excerpt)

Back Cover:
Ethan Kincaid proposes marriage with the same detachment he gives every decision. Audra Gilliand accepts his proposal so she can stop being a burden to her newly married stepdaughter.
But Ethan never expected Audra to affect him so profoundly, and it terrifies him. Someone he loved once was seriously injured on his watch, and he won't let that happen again. If Audra will just do as he says, he can keep her safe from the dangers that lurk on the ranch.
Audra has been cared for all her life by one man or another- and they've done a poor job of it. Now she's planning to stand up for herself. And her new husband had better agree or get out of her way!
Can two fearful hearts-wary of getting in too deep-become two trusting hearts, willing to let go and fall in love?

Another great book from Mary Connealy! When I first read this book, I had not read the first one in the series. And yet I was able to follow the book perfectly! That is one thing I love about Mary, her books may be a series but if you had to, they could be read alone. The first one in this book is about Audra's stepdaughter, but when reading In Too Deep, all you wonder is 'How did they fall in love?" but it's not like a BIG part of the plot in this book. Now if your anything like me, when you first read 'stepdaughter' on the back of the book and know that she is married...you wonder how old is Audra...well she's about the same age :) so it's a great little twist to the normal story.
The Kincaid men all live in Rawhide where women are scarce and 'peace and quiet' are scarcer...So when the Gilliland woman are 'found' the Kincaid men take it upon themselves to protect this 'frail women' out in the west. Ethan's older brother Rafe has decided that Ethan would be the perfect husband for Audra and father to her two daughters...now all he has to do is convince the two of it. Especially now that he is happily married...and wants some privacy.
Audra thinks Rafe has gone nuts, but she can see no other way to live other than marry Ethan. And Ethan has no Idea what his brother is doing...the last thing he wants is to have to have feelings about another human being...since the last time he did that it went terribly wrong in his eyes. And on top of it all there are people looking for his brand spanking new wife's dead husband's money...can it get any more complicated than that??? Or can it? :)

Great book! I highly recommend it, and actually after i finished this one, I had to go out and get the first one in the series (review coming soon!)

To the FTC and whomever else it may concern, I received this book Bethany House Publishing. In return, I have promised to review the book but have been given the freedom by Bethany to give my honest opinions whether they be positive or negative.
