The Christmas Story can be Found in Luke 2:
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; because (he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Back Cover:
If we're open to it, God can use even the smallest thing to change our lives...to change us. It might be a laughing child, car brakes that need fixing, a sale on pot roast, a cloudless sky, a trip to the woods to cut down a Christmas tree, a schoolteacher, a Dunhill Billiard pipe...or even a pair of shoes.
Some people will never believe. They may feel that such things are to trivial, too simple, or too insignificant to forever change a life, but I believe.
And I always will.
-from The Christmas Shoes
Sometimes the things that can change your life will cross your path in one instance-and then, in a fleeting moment, they're gone. But if you open your eyes and watch carefully, you will believe...
Robert is a successful attorney who has everything in life- and nothing at all. Focused on professional achievement and material rewards, Robert is on the brink of losing his marriage. He has lost sight of his wife, Kate, their two daughters, and ultimately, himself. Eight-year-old Nathan has a beloved mother, Maggie, whom he is losing to cancer. But Nathan and his family are building a simple yet full life and struggling to hold on to every moment they have together. A chance meeting on Christmas Eve brings Robert and Nathan together- he is shopping for a family he hardly knows, and Nathan is shopping for a mother he is soon to lose. In this one encounter, their lives are forever altered as Robert learns an important lesson: Sometimes the smallest things cam make all the difference.
The Christmas Shoes, a tale of our shared humanity, is a universal story of the deeper meaning of serendipity and how a power greater than ourselves can shape, and even save, our lives.

NorthWest by VeraLee Wiggins
Four Inspiring Love Stories from the Rugged and Unspoiled Northwest Territory.

Matha Lawford, grieving for the family she left behind, plans to stay on her father's land claim in the Washington Territory. The rugged frontier is no place for a single woman, but who will be willing to take on this proud loner and call her, Martha My Own?

As the Characters of NorthWest experience God's grace on their journeys their stories of triumph ring through the years to offer new hope for today.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS?
I was looking through the Library, for some books to read, and When I don't have any in particular that I want to check out, I just go through looking for the sticker on the spine that says, 'Christian' or 'Christian Fiction'...And this is one of those. Great 4 Story Book, They all tie together, and the last Story was the Last 'Book' VeraLee Wiggins ever wrote! This book was put together in memory of her, by her Husband...She was a great writer! I love the book, and it kept me turning the pages...The first story is about Rachel, but Martha is in it as well. You become apart of this wagon train, when heartache strikes, it seems like it's happening to you, and not just the Characters in the story. When reading it, I felt like I was in the time period written about.
Rachel Butler, is a girl who loves her way of life, and doesn't want to give it up, but when her father decides to head west, Life ceases as she knows it. No more Restaurants, no more fancy Stores or gowns...No More parties, and No more beau's...so she thinks. She is determined to have an awful time, and not enjoy it one bit, but when she becomes friends with sweet tempered Martha, that all changes. She sees Martha rubbing off on her, and can it be? She starts enjoying the trip!
Martha Lawford, the sweet-tempered girl of 17, loves the idea of heading west with her whole family. But when tragedy strikes her wagon, can she stay her sweet self? And when she has to head on alone, can she make it with only her Dog and her God?
Abe Nobel, A man in his late Twenties, Having already been in the Army, Thinks that the Washington Territory is the most beautiful in the land. When he meets Martha, he starts taking care of her, but when her family fails to catch up like she thinks, and with winter setting in, Can They make a go of a Marriage of Convience?
Read through the four stories, and see how these two friends get split up, and then reunited! A great read, and one I recommend to be added to your collection!

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS?
This is Lauraine's 3rd series using the Red River Valley...Red River of the North (6 books) Return to Red River (3 books) and then Daughters of Blessing.
In A Promise for Ellie, Andrew is waiting in Blessing for the day of Graduation, when Ellie will return to Blessing to Graduate with her friends, istead of in the city, where her family moved to when the Valley was hindering her father's Furniture Buisness. But One night, Andrew's Father asks him to postpone the Wedding, Because the barn isn't finished, and the mail-order house is two-weeks late. When Andrew tells Ellie about it, she's upset, but understands that Father Bjorklund wouldn't ask it of them, if he didn't have a good reason. So Ellie heads back to the city with her parents, to collect her things, to move back to Blessing to work until the wedding.
When the wedding is upon them, Ellie and her girlfriends, decide to Stay the night at the new house. But a tradgedy occurs, that may keep Andrew and Ellie apart for the rest of their lives.

League of Superheroes by Steve Rice, instead of doing a Review, I decided to do an interview this month. So sit back and enjoy! Don't forget to read a way to win a free copy!
Welcome to Caffeine & Romance's interview 'room', Today we have Steve Rice with us, the Author of League of Superheroes, Thanks for coming Steve.
Good evening, supheroes and supervillains! I just flew in from Colorado, and boy, is my suit tired!
1. What inspired you to write this story?
I've written some superhero fiction before--I wrote a short story in the eighth grade about some engineers' kids who put together something like a Titan suit--it even had a character named Charlie, though he was very different then. I brought them back in the twelfth grade, only now the story was narrated by a language geek and involved creating a robot that became a kind of superhero. [I go into some of this at http://ansric.blogspot.com/2008/09/league-of-superheroes-opening-day.html ] But a lot of the incidental material arose because I would see some effect misrepresented in fiction. I do try to get the physics right.
The precise circumstances were odd, though: In January 2004, I found myself staying as a guest with some people I knew from a new church. I had moved to Colorado from Alaska in late July 2003 to help my mother, who was moving there. I had no job, no contacts, and no skills appropriate to the area. I did have my computer, and I kept my sanity in part by reading e-books I had stored there.
I'm a seat-of-the-pants writer, but I usually have a really good idea of my main characters and the general direction of the story before I begin. In fact, I usually know the ending scene before I start. In this case, I suddenly had the opening scene and the mysterious girl in the chat room. I knew who and what she was, but that was about it. But I started writing, and I finished the story in a couple weeks. The plot line and characters changed considerably during that time.
2. Who is your favorite character and why?
That's almost impossible to answer. I have to love my characters to write about them, though it doesn't always happen immediately. I didn't care for Tom initially--it wasn't until he did his power dive over the cliff that I truly began to like him. Rod is mostly comic relief, but he is more important to the series than most people would imagine. Charlie leads from behind and keeps things from exploding. Allen is between Charlie and Tom in maturity--and age, for that matter. Clarice was supposed to be a flat nuisance-sibling character, but Tom will eventually say more than once that she was the best superhero in the group. And Uncle and Genie are both tragic figures, trying for salvation, but on their own terms.
3. How have your personal faith and beliefs influenced your story?
There are always echoes of C. S. Lewis in my writing, and _League of Superheroes_ echoes certain points from _The Abolition of Man_, _That Hideous Strength_, and other books. It also reflects my belief in Literary Lifestyle Evangelism: instead of having the characters preach at the reader, they simply live out their faith before the reader. They try to figure out (usually with God's help) what is right, though they aren't perfect. And the really important jobs are accomplished by faith and the power of God, not by even Genie's incredibly advanced technology. That becomes more pronounced in later stories.
4. What was the hardest part of writing this book?
Certain of Tom's quirks were a bit annoying. In particular, he's trying to recapture how he felt and what he thought at the time--he's writing this well after the fact--so there are places where he's nearly lying: he knows better now, but he will state that something was so, even though he will eventually admit otherwise. He misrepresents Rod, for example, I think out of envy and even a little fear. On the other hand, he sometimes comments on matters from a future viewpoint because he can't help it, as when he calls himself a fool for putting down Clarice's prayerful approach to Genie's technology. It's because he still blames himself (I think unreasonably) for almost getting her killed a few stories down the line as a result of his attitude. So fielding Tom's quirks is sometimes hard.
5. What was easiest?
The story itself came easily: I really did just sit down and write it, and there weren't any major blocks along the way. Some of the sequels weren't that easy, but this one flowed.
6. What's next for you?
Assuming this sells reasonably well, the next book is _Genie At Large_, which introduces the series villain and properly sets up the spiritual conflict. I also have some unrelated projects, such as _Galatea_, which I hope to publish through Lulu in the near future.
7. What's your Life Verse?
I usually cite Proverbs 25:2--"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings." But a better verse for the series would probably be Proverbs 21:30--"There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD." God has a plan for Genie, and he cannot be stopped.
I Love hearing the different verses people quote as their Life Verse
8.What would you like people to take away from your story, after they read it?
I suppose the idea of thinking and living like a Christian rather than just drifting with popular culture (even supposedly Christian popular culture). Don't be a robot; know and follow God.
Well Thanks for Coming! Any CLosing Remarks?
Hello, I must be going!
I cannot stay;
I came to say
I must be going!
I'm glad I came,
But just the same
I must be going...
-Rufus T. Firefly
A Little Blurb about League of Superhero's:
The League of Superheroes
Four teenage boys and one little sister discover someone in a chat room who claims to be a little girl named Genie, but whose scientific knowledge and technology are a few centuries ahead of anyone else.
Who or what is Genie? The most intelligent mortal in history—an integral part of the most powerful force mankind has ever unleashed. And she does not consider herself subject to the laws of God or man.
On a whim, Genie transforms her new friends into the League of Superheroes:
Titan—a walking and flying tank—is Rod Davies, a klutzy, diplomacy-impaired beanpole who is also a certified genius in math and physics;
Darklight—an invisible spy—is the narrator, Tom Reilly, a scientifically inclined polyglot;
Tachyon—able to speed or slow time in his area—is Allen Peters, super-hacker; and
Micromegas—a size-changer—is Charlie Taylor, who hopes someday to be a medical missionary.
And then there are Clarice Peters, Allen’s little sister and perhaps Genie’s best friend, and "Uncle," the mysterious elderly man who was the first to treat Genie like a human being…
But can even superheroes save her (and the world) from her so-called creators—and from Genie herself?

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:

It takes place in the 1870's, and Tamera does a great job writing in this era. Kathryn Loves her husband, but because of past events, he isn't trust worthy. So Kathryn is always having to explain herself to Larson, But when Larson goes missing, she finds out that their farm is going under, not to mention she finds out she's pregnant, all without Larson. Patience Smith only intends to wear Lenore's wedding dress for a few minutes, but when a kidnapper snatches Patience away in case of mistaken identity, she finds herself lost in the mountains of Colorado. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she escapes he kidnapper and stumbles onto an abandoned mining dugout and a lonely orphan. Patience has found herself a gold mine! Now if she can just get Denver City sheriff Jay Longer to help, she can mine the gold that will mean a whole new future for Patience and the rest of the mail-order brides.
But Jay has plans of his own, and someone is trying to keep them away from that gold.
Can Patience and Jay work together, escape outlaws, and strike gold? And can they do it all without losing their hearts in the process?
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS?
Ok, so this is the last one of the Brides of the West series, Let's just say I'm sad to see them go. :(
So there is Patience, and Jay. They have NEVER liked each other. Always fighting or just trying to stay away from each other to avoid it.
You next question...Why was Patience in Lenore's Wedding Dress in the first place? Well, you see Lenore and her Fiance's families have been feuding for a LONG time, but they want to get married in spite of it all. But Lenore's Family has forbidden her to have dress fittings! and Patience is just her Size! (that takes care of Why)
When Patience gets kidnapped, and stumbles across the cabin w/the little boy in it. Her life takes a drastic Change. For the Better. Patience starts taking care of Wilson(little boy in cabin) and when he tells her of the Gold in the mine, Patience will stop at nothing to get it, to help; her, Wilson, and the rest of the mail-order brides. The only thing is...Everyone thinks the Mine is haunted. And Jay is the only person that will help, because he promised not to come back w/out her!
Ok, I can't say anymore with out giving away more of the story...I've done enough of that already..:) But remember when I said this was the last of the Brides of the West series?!?!? Well, technically it is, but they may come back in 'Men Of The Saddle' series!!! I looked up the first book, and I think Mary is in it! I'll start looking for them @ the Library!

A Penny for My Thoughts?
Great Book!! Even though it's the 8th one in a series! lol :) For those of you that know me, you know that this is a common occurance (me readin a series out of order) Mostly because I love to read, so when I have a book, I have to read it...then go back and get the other ones. Unless it makes no sense to me because I haven't read the one before it...but this is not the case with Jillian Hart. This book could be a Novel, and you wouldn't miss a beat, Unless u just like to hear about the other people in books.
Jillian Shows, how Love and the CHRISTmas spirit, can change a person's outlook on life. Now Spence's Mother, ran out on his father and took the family savings when times got rough. This ruined Spence's intake on a Happily-ever-after. But with the help of his Grandmother, Step Mother, and 6 sisters...He starts running into Lucy more, like at holiday get-togethers. Then they end up in the same group for the Hospitalized Children's group. Lucy isn't sure Spence is the one, she had gone through a near wedding experience before, so she was extra careful now. Can Spence shield his melting heart? Can Lucy take a chance on possibly getting hurt?

WANTED: Women with religious upbringing, high morals, and a strong sens of adventure, willing to marry decent, God-fearing men. Applicants may apply by mail. Must allow at least two months for an answer.
Mail-order bride Hope Kallahan is not amused when her stagecoach is waylaid by a bunch of bumbling outlaws. The Feisty beauty is puzzled by the oddball in the group- the disarmingly kind Grunt Lawson. She doesn't know that Grunt is really Dan Sullivan, the government agent sent to infiltrate the gange on what was supposed to be his last assignment.
Together, Hope and Dan learn that no matter what happens, God works everything together into a plan that's bigger and better than all their hopes and dreams.
A Penny for my Thoughts?
This one actually takes place about a week before June, but ends after it. (confusing right?) Well this one goes very smoothly until Hope gets kidnapped. But as soon as they stop the Stage, things completely turn around! lol, just thinking about some of the things that Hope does, makes me laugh. The first night at the Outlaws hide out, she stands in the doorway because she refuses to sleep in the pigsty they call a cabin! for like 16 hrs. Talk about stubborn.
The Outlaws all think that she is a politician's daughter, and are hoping to get money out of her 'father'. But Grunt knows that she isn't who they hope she is, because he has seen the politician's daughter before at a dance.
So his cover isn't blown, Dan starts being brutly mean to Hope, but Hope doesn't notice. Will he save Hope by helping her escape or will her let the game continue? I don't know, (ok well actually i do) but you have to find out for yourself.

CLARISSA RICHARDSON feels alone. She wants desperately to honor the memory of her grandmother by running a successful pharmacy...but that vision comes to a screeching halt when her grandfather hires Paige, the too-perfect new girl who seems to be hiding something.
TODAY SEEMS DARK AND PAINFUL, BUT EVERY TOMORROW BRINGS THE HOPE OF SOMETHING NEW. IF THEY CAN JUST KEEP...
WAITING FOR DAYBREAK
A Penny for my Thoughts?
Ok, I got this book for my birthday a couple of months ago, and at first I thought there wouldn't be any romance or anything (and you know how I like that) but I started to read it, and I just couldn't put it down. I kept turning the pages to see which Girl (Clarissa or Paige) would end up 'winning' in the end. and towards the 6 or so chapter, a couple of guys (eligible) come waltzing into the picture. Both liking Paige, but Clarissa likes Cory, and Paige doesn't! Not to mention Tony, who is so smitten, I kept thinkin of him like how the Owl off of Bambi describes Twitter Patted animals...They're walkin on air, and all of a sudden, they loose their head! That's what Tony did, in like 2 min of seeing Paige.
If you want a page turner, I strongly suggest getting Waiting for Daybreak!!!!!

#3 in the O'Malley Series
Back Cover:
WOMEN ARE MISSING...
Amy Ireland disappeared twenty years ago without a trace. For U.S. Marshal Quinn Diamond, it's a case that has never closed. He's still searching- determined to learn the truth.
THEY ARE TURNING UP DEAD...
Lisa O'Malley is a forensic pathologist; mysteries are her domain. She has worked crime scenes in Chicago for years. Examining a sea of evidence, the connections between victims are so faint that they fade into ill-defined wisps as she searches for a pattern.
LISA O'MALLEY IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME...
The threads are pulling Lisa's and Quinn's cases together. And where they intersect there's a killer who will stop at nothing to see his secret remained buried.
AND NOW SHE'S MISSING TOO...
Quinn wanted Lisa's help. He never planned to put her in danger. She didn't expect him to invade her heart... or his God to change her life. And while Lisa understands death and darkness all too well, she's about to discover love and the Resurrection.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS?
Lisa works in the morgue, Quinn works as a U.S. Marshall. The first mark against Quinn was the fact that she was the 4th O'Malley he had asked out. But just because you don't like the timing they have, doesn't mean you won't fall for them. When Quinn's personal case is running parallel with Lisa's case. Women showing up w/the same MO's (Mode of Operation), Can Lisa stop trying to stay away from Quinn long enough to get his help? Or will that be too long?
Quinn, being older that Lisa, is ready to settle down, but when he asks Lisa out as the fourth O'Malley, he'll soon learn that girls just don't like that. lol. (am I right girls?)
It's a great book. You get used to Lisa's sense of humor towards the middle of the book. And Quinn ends up being like a Prince Charming at the end. The perfect mixture of Romance, Mystery, and Faith!

Leaps of Faith contains 15 stories that cover the spectrum of the SF genre, showing the positive relationship between science and religion.
Space Exploration: High Hopes for The Dead,” shows Christian evangelism though faithful example of Luke “High Hopes” Kittery, a member of a band of space explorers for whom every trip is potential suicide. “Quantum Express” examines the soul’s fate when the body is destroyed and reassembled through teleportation. In “God’s Gift,” faith is the key to preventing insanity brought on by a new method of interstellar travel. “Leaps of Faith” highlights the new industry of space search and rescue though the intrepid nuns of Our Lady of the Rescue. In “Confirmation,” harvesters of an exotic space fuel suspect they’re harvesting intelligent life--or perhaps the angels themselves.
Encountering Alien Life: “Lost in the Translation” chronicles a monk’s evangelism to a species for which death results in corporeal rebirth. In “Lost Rythar,” ministers bring the Word of God to long-forgotten human colonies. In “Sometimes We Lie,” a native born being tries to spread an ancient human faith. Fr. Wren wonders if a sentient tree-creature can marry into the Catholic Faith in “The Convert,” while Fr. Travener faces persecution by ministering to sentient androids in “Comprehending It Not.”
Hard SF: An astrophysicist finds the face of God in the stars in “The Smile.” God is a proven fact in “The Faith Equation,” leaving the question of the role of belief. “The Relics of Venice” combines genetic engineering and love to create a miracle.
Time travel: By: In “Tampering with God’s Time,” time travelers find they cannot change the timeline, but are themselves change as they encounter Christ personally, while in “Moses Disposes,” King Solomon deliberately uses time travelers to bring the Bible to future generations in an idiom they can understand.
My Two Cents Worth:
It was a good book, I'm not so into the SF types of books, (as y'all probably know;)
I have to say that it was well written.
Leaps of Faith contains 15 stories exploring space, time and faith. Can an ancient religion bring hope to first-line explorers for whom each trip is potential suicide? What does it mean when a physicist finds God's face in the stars? Is there a "saint gene" and can it be reproduced to create miracles? What happens to your soul when your body is shattered into quantum elements and reassembled on another world? How will the Christian faith transform alien thoughts and traditions?
Read as time travelers seeking to change Biblical history and space travelers harvesting "angels" are brought to faith by their experiences. Experience tender romance and heart-pounding adventure. Laugh at the foibles of man.
A 2002 EPPIE finalist for Best Electronic Anthology, Leaps of Faith promises the best in Christian sci-fi.

Back Cover:
Wanted: Women with religios upbrining, high morals, and a strong sense of adventure, willing to marry decent, God-fearing men. Applicants may apply by mail. Must allow at least 2 months for an answer.
Like her sister befor her June leaves her Michigan home to embrace her future as a mail-order bride: partner and helpmate to a young Washington State pastor. But from the start, nothing works out as June expects. Caught up in her fiance's vision for an elaborate tabernacle that would befit God's glory, she soon learns that not everyone approves of the plan. Most opposed is the hardheaded Parker Sentell, who secretly favors supporting the bedraggled group of orphans in the local orphanage. June's friend Samantha and her aging aunt run the orphanage, and June finds the orphans a natual outlet for her generous muturing spirit. But the two projects seem incompatible, and June finds herself faced with difficult choices-choices that challenge both her faith and her heart.
A lighthearted story that illustrates God's faithfulness even when we don't understand his plan.
My two cents worth:
June arrives in Washington State, to find her fiance sick, and his grouchy best friend. When her fiance dies from the Illness, June finds herself staying on to finish his work. But when she tries to help both the Reverand and the orphanage, the Reverand makes her choose, and she chooses the orphanage. But little does she know that the grouchy Best friend of her would've been husband, has a soft spot for the orphans, the same as she.
Can they set aside their differences? And can they both put aside their pride, and admit they like eachother?

#1 in the Brides of the West Series 1872
Earlier, I did a review on Glory, #4 to this series, well the other day, I bought the rest of the series on Ebay.
Back Cover:
Wanted: Women with religious upbringing, high morals, and a strong sense of adventure, willing to marry decent, God-fearing men. Applicants may apply by mail. Must allow at least 2 months for an answer.
With the matrimonial prospects in her little Michigan town virtually nonexistent, nineteen-year-old Faith- along with her two sisters, Hope and June- answers an ad for mail-order brides. Before she knows it, she's on her way to Deliverance, Texas, determined to make a success of her marriage to wealthy rancher Nicholas Shepherd.
But from the moment she arrives in Deliverance, sparks begin to fly between Faith, a strong-willed tomboy, and her prospective husband- a man with a pretty Strong will of his own! Then there's Liza, Nicholas's mother, who is anything but thrilled that her son has chosen a mail-order bride. After a string of wedding postponements and a slew of interfering people, a union between Nicholas and Faith begins to look less and less likely.
In the meantime Faith and Nicholas are beginning to care for one another-but is their matching stubbornness destine to forever be a barrier between them?
My Two Cents Worth:
Faith and her sisters, have just lost their father, and realize that their ageing aunt can't afford 3 extra mouths to feed. So they answer these ads, but when Faith reaches Texas, it's not all she had hoped.
When the first attempt to get married failed, she thought nothing of it. but after the 2nd or 3rd attempt failed again, Faith begins to doubt if they were supposed to be together. And on top of this her would be mother in law, is still grieving the lose of her husband two years earlier.
When both Faith and Nicholas realize they love each other, can they put aside their pride and accept each other's apologies?

Just as the spark of love ignites, tragedy strikes, leaving Jackie with a secret so terrible she would rather loose Clay than share it with him. Can anything draw Jackie from her self-imposed exile and open the shutters of her blinded heart?
My two cents worth:
Great book, The whole series is good. even though my favorite Lori Wick book is The Princess, This one is very good.
Clay and Jackie fight for the first part of the book. Neither one realizing that what they are feeling is really love. But when Clay's father gets hurt, and they have to move to the city, Both are bombarded with the feeling that they are losing their other half. The president has selected the next Supreme Court justice. His choice is controversial, highly political, and about to become very public. For the U.S. Marshals who protect the judges, the situation presents the height of security concerns.
A FEDERAL JUDGE IS MURDERED.
one man decides he can't allow the president's choice to sit on the bench. His ruthless attack is high risk- and successful. The justice is dead. But the killer made one mistake...
THERE IS ONLY ONE WITNESS.
Shari Hanford was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She's seen the killer. He's seen her. And only one of them can live.
ONLY ON MAN CAN HELP HER.
U.S. Marshal Marcus O'Malley thought he knew the risks of the assignment going in. He was wrong. He never expected Shari to invade his heart, nor her faith to change his life. He's been the guardian of the O'Malley family for two decades. Now he's the guardian of a woman being hunted by the best assassin in the world- a woman he'll have to risk everything to protect.
My Thoughts.
Ok this one is just as good as the other two. And if you've read the other two, your just dying to read this one. It has the action, the mystery, and the romance. But does it have the Happy Ending? I know, but if you want to know, you'll have to read it!

#1 in the O'Malley Series
Back Cover:
FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION...
FBI special agent Dave Richman has spent his life protecting people; failure is not in his vocabulary. He'll figure out a way to protect Kate even if she is determined to make it difficult.
FAILURE MEANS SOMEBODY DIES...
Kate O'Malley's specialty is hostage situations- defusing human time bombs before they go off. She will walk into the middle of a crisis if that's what is necessary to settle a situation. She's learned to let others see what she wants them to see. She's learned to depend on herself. Only herself. People die if she fails.
FAILURE IS WHAT SOMEONE WANTS...
Kate is a target. Someone's been sending her black roses. Maybe the same person who just blew up an airplane...and blamed Kate. Then the investigation brings up the one name Kate hoped never to hear again... and she's face with the shocking evidence that the bomber maybe be someone she knows. Now she has to decide if Dave- and the God he trusts so implicitly - is all he's supposed to be. And Dave is about to discover that loving a hostage negotiator is one thing, but keeping her safe is another matter entirely.
My thoughts.
If you haven't thought of it or figured it out yet, Dave Richman is Sara Walsh(Black)'s Brother from the prequel...cool huh? The Negotiator is an interesting book, Kate and Dave meet during a Bank Hold up. Dave behind a counter, and Kate talking to the man holding the bank up. From this point on, Dave is hooked, it takes a tad longer to convince Kate, that he isn't going anywhere. But when a man starts hanging with your Brothers, look out, he's here to stay! Another one of Dee Henderson's best, Keeps you on the edge of you seat and turning the pages!

Danger in the Shadows, is a great book to start out a series. Dee Henderson is one of my FAVORITE authors. I love the mystery, and the romance that she puts in her books. I also love the way that she keeps you guessing as to who it is trying to get to Sara. Only till the end do you realize who really 'dun it'. #4 in the Bride's of the West 1872 Series
First three books: Faith, June,& Hope(1-3), Ruth & Patience (5-6)
Ok, To be honest when I was reading this book I didn't know that it was the 4th one in a series, (if you hadn't noticed, this happens to me A LOT) Which is a good thing I guess, I actually thought this one was the 1st. Show's how little I know. LOL
This book, is one of my favorites. Its about a girl named Glory, When she was an infant, she fell off her families wagon heading west. And this Man, named Poppy, Found her and took her into his home. The only thing was, that he didn't teach her to be a woman, he taught her to be a man. But when Poppy dies, Glory decides to head west. Back Cover:

Sunrise Song by Cathethrine Palmer
315 pages
Book #4 in the series: Treasures of the Heart
Last weekend My Family and I went to goodwill, and whenever I go there, I head straight for the books. As I'm sure most of you know, its hard to find GOOD books there, since they are all mixed together. So when I find an author that I know, i make sure to grab it.(even if it happens to be a book in the middle of a series I've never read:) And this past weekend Sunrise Song was one of my finds!!!
Back Cover:
Dr. Fiona Thornton is completely content with her isolated life studying elephants in the wilds of Kenya's Rift Valley...Until Rogan McCullough lands his plane at he campsite and disrupts her entire world. Now Fiona has a high-powered business man on her hands and no use for him, his money or his plan to exploit her beloved elephants. But when poachers threaten Fiona's herd, she and Rogan find themselves working together against all odds. As their hearts join together, they each face a terrible choice...
This was a great book, I have to admit that it started off kind of slow, but it started to pick up speed toward the middle. Catherine shows you, Fiona and Rogan's pasts so that you can better understand the present. Fiona, a woman who prefers to be alone without human contact, and Rogan who lives off of his contacts in the buisness world. And with the Poachers, she keeps you guessing as to who is the culprit. Believe me, I thought I them pinned a couple of times, but in the end I was wrong. And may I say, I'm glad I was.
I don't know about the rest of y'all but when I'm reading a good book, the characters come to life, and I feel as though I'm sitting right there with them, weither it be in the middle of the African Desert to beside a pool at some hotel. And that was the case with this book, Catherine made it come to life in my head, which is what I look for in books I read!
So if you wish to go on an African Adventure, Pick up Sunrise Song, Find a comfy chair, and snuggle up with your coffee, because your going on the ride of your life!!!
Great Story Catherine Palmer!!!
